20,000 Blames Under the Sea

Today the official Blame-Count nudged past the 20,000 mark, fueled by blames about the DOS attack on Twitter.

That’s 20,000 blames in less than 100 days! It’s hundreds of blames a day.

Here’s what Drew had to say:

We are working so so hard to do great things along with LIVESTRONG, and you get it. You totally get it. Not only that, but if my cancer isn’t in the corner crying somewhere, I’d be shocked. Can you imagine what it feels like to be blamed for 20,000 things?

You can read more thoughts from Drew and his recent favorite blames in his thank you post.

My favorite blame is from my mother, a Twitter newbie who started using her account just to blame cancer:

I #blamedrewscancer that my son jumped out of a plane, I forgive Drew but refuse to forgive drewscancer.

We need another 250 blamers to break the 10,000 mark. Can we do it by our big countdown event next Thursday? I think so.

So get out there and spread the blame! (- @krisis)

Drew to Emcee LiveStrong Challenge!

Breaking news from Drew:

Brooke from LiveStrong is in town.

Meeting for the first time in person.

I was just announced emcee for livestrong challenge.

The LiveStrong Challenge is the LAF’s signature fundraising event for walkers, runner, riders, volunteers, and donators. The Challenge poses the question “If you could challenge cancer, what would you say?”

Drew definitely has a lot to say to his cancer. Can’t wait to hear his kickoff speech!

LiveStrong Challenge: Go Ahead. Pick A Fight.

Cupcakes ho! In addition to the Taco Bell Truck, our 9/9/9 Blame-a-Thon will also feature the ButterCream Cupcake Truck.
You can follow the truck on Twitter, although I think we’d all prefer to follow it down the street, catching cupcakes in our mouths as they toss them out of the back of the truck.
Sorry, I don’t know if that’s how it really works. But, I’m sure they’d throw the cupcakes at you if you ask nicely. (-@krisis)

Last night #blamedrewscancer and friends bowled over cancer in a major way! We packed Lucky Strike Lanes to benefit LiveStrong, and got cancer out in the open by talking to survivors, friends, and family members about their experiences with cancer.
We’re waiting on the official fundraising tally, but I can tell you it’s definitely $1000+ … we racked up dozens of strikes and spares towards donations from our awesome sponsor Level Three Media. Also, many thanks are due to our event-organizer Mary-Beth.
